A native Virginian, I moved to New York in
1984 to assume the position of Manager at the Westside Diet Center. I fell in love with the company and bought a franchise on the Eastside in 1988.
People often ask me "What's the best part of this business?" I can honestly say, it's having the opportunity to make such a difference in people's lives. Sometimes when I'm asked what I do for a living I intrigue people by telling them I'm a dream maker. I take people's dreams and turn them into reality. That always generates a smile.
What sets my Center apart from other weight loss facilities is the one-on-one coaching offered by staff that really cares. People feel the concern we have for them.
My staff and I are very accessible to our clients-we encourage them to come in 2-3 times per week and are also available for sessions by phone or email. This way, no matter where the client may be traveling to, we can always stay connected. Here at the Diet Center on East 56th St. we are dedicated to helping you meet and maintain your goal. After all, we're only as good as your success.
Weight loss is not an oppressive subject here. We strive to create an atmosphere that's uplifting and fun. There is no expectation of perfection on our part since that is a true set up for failure. Instead, we focus on improvement that sometimes comes in the form of baby steps and sometimes in giant strides. When clients have difficult days and feel discouraged (yes it does happen!), I remind them of the importance of remaining positive and not being so hard on themselves. There's always a pearl there. Sometimes we just have to search a little harder.
